Training Categories

Our curriculum spans the 6 Modalities of Neurorecovery, foundational knowledge, and career-readiness skills — everything healthcare professionals need to deliver world-class brain trauma care.

Program Foundations

Core orientation modules covering brain injury fundamentals, the BCI 6 Modalities framework, and clinical best practices for neuro-rehabilitation.

Soft Skills & Digital Skills

Workplace communication, digital literacy, résumé development, interview preparation, and professional skills for healthcare career readiness.

Aerobic Exercise

Reduce neuroinflammation, increase blood and oxygen flow to the brain, and promote neurogenesis — the creation of new brain cells.

Cognitive Exercise

Strengthen connections between brain cells, fostering learning, memory, focus, and neuroplasticity — real, measurable brain changes.

Nutrition

Harness the gut-brain connection. A brain-healthy diet supports healing and optimal cognition following traumatic brain injury.

Limiting Harmful Exposures

Identify and reduce neurotoxic substances in food, drinks, household products, and the environment that impair brain healing.

Sleep Hygiene

Quality sleep is essential for brain recovery. Healthy sleep habits and routines provide the optimal environment for healing and cognitive function.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness meditation creates positive structural and functional brain changes, helping strengthen new neural pathways through focused presence.

About

Brain Changes Initiative

Brain Changes Initiative (BCI) is a not-for-profit organization that funds groundbreaking research to improve the standard of care for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients.

Our mission is to improve the standard of care through research, education, and awareness around lifestyle modalities of neurorecovery — Aerobic Exercise, Cognitive Exercise, Nutrition, Mindfulness, Sleep Hygiene, and Limiting Harmful Exposures.

We believe that everyone has the capacity to transform their brain. Through research-backed, non-pharmacological approaches, we're proving that the brain can re-wire, adapt, and change.
